The last regular season robotics meet was today. At the beginning of each season a specific number of spots are allocated for state competition. Many of those spots go to students who have outright won meets. Many other spots go to students who, at the end of the season, have some of the highest skills scores. Skills scores include coding, programming and driving scores. With that explanation, I am proud to say that the Danville Tomato Devils have made state! Congratulations to James Hochstetler, James Malone, Malcolm Yoder, and Ava Hall! State competition is on Friday, March 1. The Tater Devils and Tomato Devils will leave from the school at 6:50 AM. I will send home parent permission forms with more details. There was a lot of experience gained. I see a great future for the Danville Robotics program. Students who did not make state are done with practices. I will reach out when we have robot take down day. I will also reach out once we have a date set for the robotics awards night.

We are so excited to invite everyone to the annual Fine and Performing Arts Showcase! This event will take place at the High School on March 9th from 1-4pm. Displays will be placed throughout the building from a variety of departments including K-12 visual art, fashion, cooking/foods, agriculture, Spanish, yearbook, jazz band, and the performing arts. This will be a gallery walk so feel free to come and walk through at your convenience. We are so proud of all the students within the district and all that they have accomplished. Please come and support our students' hard work and achievements!

For the next month, NHS is collecting donation items for Starting Point, a non-profit pregnancy resource center located in Mount Vernon. If you would like to help, please consider donating diapers, baby wipes, or neutral-colored baby clothes. You can do this at the drop boxes located near the front door display case in the high school and next to the office in the elementary school.

Mapleton Robotics Winter Clash '24 The Jr. High, Cereal Killers took home the Excellence Award, The Skills Award, and the second-place Teamwork Championship. The Hot Tots took home second place in skills, and the Think Award, both teams have qualified for the state championships!

The Danville Robotics Teams had an amazing day today! In the Elementary School the Danville Tater Devils took home the Teamwork Championship Award, The Skills Champion Award, and the Sportsmanship Award. The Tomato Devils and the Devil Cows both finished in 4th place in finals competition. The Blue Waffles finished in sixth place. Danville Destroyers finished 20th overall. The Middle School Cereal Killers took home the Excellence Award, The Skills Award, and second place Teamwork Championship. The Hot Tots took home second place in skills, the Think Award, and 4th place for Teamwork finals. Danville Tater Devils (ELM,) the Cereal Killers and the Hot Tots (Middle School) have all qualified for the state championships! (Registration fees for the Tater Devils, Tomato Devils, and Destroyers were sponsored by Google.)
